Hi,
I an contemplating buying a Springbank 15. But it costs a lot in Québec : 25US$ more than Lagavulin 16 and Talisker Distillers Edition. I was somewhat disappointed with the Hazelburn 12. I tasted very briefly the Springbank 12 CS and liked it, but it wasn't the best tasting condition.
So its a money question. Here, I get a Talisker 10 for around 50$US. The Springbank 15 costs 100$US. I like to taste everything, but is this just too much? (I know money is relative).
Thank you. I'm a fan of Talisker, Lagavulin, Oban (not impressed by the last bottle), HP...
Hard to say. The Hazelburn taste is in every Spingbank. And the batches of Springbank CS 12 are different. Some have Sherry and Bourbon casks, some have only Sherrycasks and i dont know if there are Bourbon cask only bottlings.
I also can't enjoy Springbank/Hazelburn/Longrow every day. Maybe i would skip Springbank at first and try something new.
