How do you choose which whisky to review?

This question is aimed at Horst and Ben. I was just wondering what process you guys go through when deciding which whisky to review. Are you sent samples from distributors for review? If you find a faulty bottle is it rushed into the lineup? Purely curious.

Would we in the forums be able to request reviews?

I can answer for Horst and Ben. There is a small amount of returned faulty bottles and there are also some distributor samples. But 90% of the reviewed Whiskys are new releases. At least thats what we know from the german channel. Of course the english channel has more core range whiskys, because they already exist in german language.

You can ask Horst/Ben for special reviews, they already asked the users here in another topic. There is a chance that they will review it for you if the bottles arn't very rare and/or expensive.

There was a video of Horsts office in the past and there were around 40 or more bottles that he had to taste. It's also not sure when the video with your bottles will be released.
