Edradour celebrates 200th anniversary with special editions

The Edradour Distillery in the Highland village of Pitlochry has been producing whisky since 1825. The distillery, which was advertised as "Scotland's smallest distillery" for a long time, mainly produces unpeated, but to a certain degree also peated single malts. The fact that it no longer lays claim to this epithet following the foundation of a number of new micro-distilleries does nothing to change the style of the distillery run by Andrew Symington.

In order to retain this style and still expand production capacity, a second distillery was opened directly next to the previous one in 2018, which is an accurate replica of the first with the same distilling equipment.

Edradour No.2 Inaugural Release 7 Years, Signatory Vintage

The first single malt whisky of this "Edradour 2" Distillery is now one of the special editions presented to mark Edradour's 200th anniversary. This inaurural release is 7 years old and is being released as a Signatory Vintage - Andrew Symington's label as an independent bottler. The Edradour No.2 7 Year Old is a cask strength bottling with 57.1% vol. from first fill sherry butts and can already be found here in the Whisky.de online shop.

Edradour Distillery Edition 10 Years

A 10-year-old Edradour is the second anniversary bottling. As a variation on the popular standard bottling, this ten-year-old Distillery Edition has a slightly higher strength of 46% vol. and was bottled without chill-filtering. It was matured in Oloroso sherry casks and is also available here at Whisky.de .

Edradour Small Batch Pedro Ximénez Sherry Casks

The 10-year-old Edradour Small Batch Pedro Ximénez Sherry Casks was also bottled at 46% vol. Matured from June 2015 to September 2025 in these sherry casks, it has developed into a sweet palate-pleaser. Available here at Whisky.de - limited like all Anniversary bottlings.

Edradour Amarone Dal Forno Romano Casks

The fourth in the group is a very special single malt: the Edradour Amarone Dal Forno Romano Casks was matured for 22 years in these exceptional casks, in which one of the best Italian red wines was previously stored. This wine from the Valpolicella region is made from dried grapes and is characterised by a heavy, full-bodied sweetness. The Edradour Amarone Dal Forno Romano Casks was distilled on 28 January 2003 and bottled in 2025 at 50.8% vol. 1,510 bottles were bottled from casks 1001 - 1005, some of which are available here at Whisky.de .

Further editions to mark the 200th anniversary of the Edradour Distillery have already been announced.
