Looking to try a bottle or two of Whisky (a Scotch - probably a Glenmorangie 10, and a Bourbon - probably a Wild Turkey 101) over 2-3 weeks (maybe a couple of glasses a day). Really not sure how far a 350mL vs. 700mL vs. 1L bottle will go for a single person (usually it's during holidays and usually gets shared between a few people).
@ABlueQuaker
Let's say that a glass is 3cl and that you have a friend over and that you have tow glasses each. For two weeks, aka 14 days that means tat you would need 14*2*3=84cl. That is more than a bottle. So two would be enough maybe even for three people.
@ABlueQuaker
A glencairn glass (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glencairn_whisky_glass) gives you about a 50 ml serving of whisky, which is slightly more than an average shot glass. Therefore one glass a day from a 700ml bottle will last you exactly two weeks...fifteen days if you buy a 750ml bottle from America
@ABlueQuaker If you have more people on board I would always go for bigger bottles, because the have a lower unit price (you save money).
@kroman Thanks for the good info. 50mL is about how much I've been drinking per glass and about 1 glass per day so this bottle should last me a while. I don't think I'm at much risk of running out (especially seeing as I'm planning on getting myself that bottle of Glenmorangie 10 at the end of the week).
@horst_s On a slightly unrelated note, would you happen to have tried Glemorangie The Original at some point? I've heard some good things about it and am interested in picking up a bottle after I finish this bottle of Wild Turkey Bourbon. I'm fairly new to single malt whiskeys.
@ABlueQuaker , Horst has reviewed it twice.

If you're big into bourbon, you might find this a little...mild. It's definitely pleasant, and I personally enjoy this more than several other glenmorangie's. however, it is definitely missing the big spice and flavors that you get in a bourbon. This isn't a bad thing, but just different. And honestly, I'd rather have this than most bourbons, but I'm a scotch guy
@kroman Would you recommend this over the other Whiskeys in the Glenmorangie core range?
@ABlueQuaker
from their core range, my favorites are the quinta ruban, nectar d'or, the original, then the lasanta.
many of your larger liquor stores sell glenmorangie sampler packs that have a 100ml bottle of each of the core expressions
@ABlueQuaker
I think that Glenmorangie the original 10yo is a bit boring. Nothing bad about it but also nothing special. Quite easy drinking which makes it popular.
@kroman
if one is used to Bourbon than I definitely think that the Glenmorangie original will be underwhelming.
@kroman Thanks.
